The Best Way to Slim Down? Get Started Walking.


So, you've decided it's about time you start losing some weight, and that exercising frequently would be a good place to start. You should make walking an integral part of your workout plan.

There are many ways you will be able to fit walking into your day-to-day schedule. If you own a dog then take your dog for a walk around the block for no less than ten minutes. It may only have been ten minutes, but after a week that equates to 70 minutes, which is quite a good deal of walking. Interested to get a little more exercise? Take Fido for two walks every day. Or how about walking to workplace, or at least some of the way? You can try this irrespective of the distance of your home from your office. Of course, you'll have to walk back at the end of your work day, too, so that doubles the time you work out - which is terrific! On the other hand, if you ride a bus to work, just use a bus stop farther away than the one you usually use. Adding more walking into your day-to-day routine is a cinch.


Walking is wonderful for your body and general health. Since walking an aerobic exercise, you'll burn off calories, which means you'll lose weight and it's also good for your heart. You shouldn't be anxious about overworking your joints or muscles like when running, as you can go as slowly as you must. I have a thin brother who seems to be able to consume anything he wants and continue to thin. I asked him about it. He tells me doesn't know how he does it, but he did tell me that he walks a lot every day. When he reminded me of that, things suddenly became clear. Walking is uncomplicated exercise, so there really is no reason you shouldn't walk.


Try and get into the habit of walking everyday since you'll have a better chance of sticking to it, and with the right diet, you'll be able to lose weight rather easily. As you become used to walking, you'll note that you're definitely feeling more fit and, because it's not that hard on you, your motivation will be enhanced also. Before you know it, you'll be looking forward to your frequent walks and thinking about walking even more. If you think you can do more - go for it. Walk more quickly or, if you're feeling really positive, you could begin jogging. After that, the sky's the limit.
